I played trough it in a weekend (12h games, wtf?), then played a bit with creature creator. While fun at first it gets boring really fast. Personally I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone. At least at this stage.

I'm the same. I rarely cheat, and if I do it's usually after I've played the game to it's fullest capacity.
Spore for me was different. It almost seems to INVITE you to cheat. They made such a huge deal out of the different types of cheats in game, and what they do that I didn't really feel bad about it.
I played through the space stage all the way until I earned my last commanders badge, and cheated after that. To be honest, I cheated mainly because it took too damn long to get any money together. People were demanding exhorbitant funds from me left right and centre, and I was trying to save to get terra-forming tools, AND trying to purchase the systems i'd traded with...it was just impossible to actually get cash together. Cheating seemed the only way to get through any of the game without it taking me 5 hours to do what with cheats takes me 10 minutes.

Yeah, it's actually more fun with money/transformation cheats. But be advised, don't cheat on planet you have quests on currently. Or your motherplanet, you won't be able to do missions on it.
Best if you find a solar system with one planet on T0 where it would too much time and effort to get to T3/T4.

a little tips/trick i use.
Hit Pause when you look for a planet, pause also stop the timer from advancing, and you can still look for the planets..
switch off all the "inter stellar map guide (can't remember the name)" except the one for mission (lower left hand side)
if you started off from the tribe stage using battle/war to conquer the other race, you will find that you have enormous amount of enemies in space stage. plus, if you use songs and dance to advance you gain more DNA points, same if you send gift to conquere other tribes you gain more experience.
once you reach space stage, when you "convert" your enemy, try to take various different towns, millitary and economic wise,, then you'll have all aspect of land, sea, and air vehicles. once you reach space stage it doesn't matter anymore.

The problem is when you get assignments and you have to find a planet which is "3 clicks away from blablabla". I can't even find the blablabla -_-

I figure it out even more
when you get a mission theres an icon that looks like a water droplet on the mission panel, top left hand corner, each mission has a different color droplet. The mission panel consist tiny dark grey triangle to its top left, where you can click for more details, and when you are on more details mode, there's a light blue bar at the very bottom of the panel, thats where you click to bring up the big mission panel (i am sure there's a shortcut keyboard combo somewhere) the below only comes up if you check the "track this mission" check box, in the big mission panel. The game automatically track the latest 3 mission for you.
Now, on your star map, there will have 2 concentric circles with the corresponding color to the mission droplet. that's where you look, whitin the circles for each mission. so if you only track one mission at a time, it will become pretty easy to find the stars.
wait till you find portal to another galaxy. lol
PS: once your mission is done and you "warp back on to the star map theres an arrow line one the same color that points back to the planet that have given you the mission.
Thank You pamelf

There's mine. I have to clean it out a bit... It drives me crazy that it publishes your creature EVERY TIME you modify it in game. I end up with 15 different versions of the same bloody creature.

Yea, it's near the 10:30 area of the galaxy if you view it like a clock. Or thereabouts.

yep. google Sol system and there's a few good videos showing you how to get there. I found it quite early in the game because I just luckily happened to have picked my starting planet as one quite close.

There's a link to what I think is the good video. I'm slowed so I had to go from memory.
